Revered as "Telangana's Tirupati," it holds significant religious importance, rooted in the Skanda Purana, which narrates Lord Narasimha's manifestation in five forms: Jwala (in sepent form), Gandabherunda, Yogananda (in yoga posture), Ugra, and Lakshmi Narasimha, all enshrined within the temple's cave sanctum.
The temple's recent renovation, completed in March 2022, transformed it into a remarkable masterpiece of Agama Shastra-based traditional architecture. The entire structure is built using stone, predominantly Krishna Sila (black stone), Sthri Sila, and Napunsaka Sila, reflecting the Kakatiya dynasty's architectural style. The expansion increased the temple's base from 0.81 hectares to 6.5 hectares, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship.
Architects while renovating the temple, ensured the temple's design adhered to ancient principles. The use of black granite, known for its durability, is a key element. The temple complex includes the main temple, Mukha Mandapam, seven gopurams with wooden roofs, Vishnu Gundam, a holy bathing area with facilities for devotees.and pillars featuring the 12 Tamil Vaishnava saints Azhwars. The temple is in a cave (12 ft) high and 30 ft long.

Above image: The crowds at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple on the day of temple's consecration. The newly renovated temple at Yadadri is a massive 2,000-acre complex with a 17-acre, three-storeyed structure (made of roughly 13000 tonnes), featuring numerous sculptures and seven gopurams. The largest of these is the 85-ft tall Sapthathala Maharajagopuram.
The renovation, funded (not from temple funds) by a substantial budget, involved the use of gold and silver for gopuram and wall lining, etc. Historical donations, including grants from the Nizam of Hyderabad and recent jewelry gifts from the Nizam family, underscore the temple's cultural and historical significance. The temple's architecture, deities, and historical context make it a significant pilgrimage site. The total cost of renovation, etc is said to be around Rs.1800 crore, a whopping sum.
