April 13, 2025 marks the 106th anniversary of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by Brig Gen.Reginald Dyer that killed 1500 innocent people in the evening as per the estimate. Some people died in the in the stampede and some fell inti the well in the bagh. `
Some reports claim Dyer was unable to move the machine gun- mounted vehicle deep inside the narrow lane, so he ordered his troops to enter on foot and take position at the entrance through which ''people in fear will flee and the troops can shoot the thick crowd''.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders paid homage to the victims of The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, remembering it as a dark chapter and a turning point in India's freedom struggle. The 1919 massacre in Amritsar, where British troops fired on unarmed protesters, remains a symbol of courage and resistance. In his Tweet he additionally mentioned, ''The coming generations will always remember their indomitable spirit''
The Jallianwala incident changed the course of Indian history and Indian leaders to seriously move across the country to remove British domination. The Freedom fighters took the challenges to free India with more energy than before. The struggle went on 28 long years, until India finally achieved liberation from foreign domination despite protests from British conservative politicians like Winston Churchill.
