No other Indian states have witnessed so much anti-Hindu agenda by the government as Tamil Nadu does, not withstanding the fact majority of Hindus in this state are deeply religious. This state has the largest number of Hindu temples in India next to Karnataka and lots of them are steeped in history built by the dynasties of Chola, Pandya, Pallava, Vijayanagar and lately Naiks.

Recently, in the middle of controversy is popular Music director and Isai Gnani Sri Illayaraja who was on a visit to Sri Andal Temple in Srivilliputhur in Vridhunagar District, South Tamil Nadu. He was a special invitee to attend a function there.
The fake media reports and TV channels worked overtime and vied with one another and alleged that the music director was stopped from entering Srivilliputhur Andal Temple's sanctum / garbhagriha
Describing that he was denied entry to the arthamandapam of the Andal temple on Sunday (December 15, 2024), music composer Ilaiyaraaja on Monday (December 16, 2024) said he would never give up his self-respect.
Temple authorities said that as per the custom of the temple being followed for centuries no other persons than the priests, abbots, and jeeyar are allowed inside the Artha mandapa and beyond. With respect to sanctum, only the hereditary priests are allowed, not even jeeyars or any other high-ranking Acharyas as in the Shiva temples where Sankaracharya can't get into the sanctum.
This misinformation that Sri Illiyaraja was stopped from entering the Artha mandapam at the Andal temple in Srivilliputhur on Sunday evening sparked a spate of controversial allegations and debates on casteist practices. According to sources, the incident occurred when Ilaiyaraja went to the temple before attending the release event of his composition Divya Pasuram.
Responding to the allegations, K Chelladurai, Joint Commissioner, HR & CE noted that Ilaiyaraja along with Shri Shri Shri Thirathandi Shriman Narayana Chinna Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamigal visited the temple. The official clarified that as per the customary practice prevailing in the temple no other persons than the priests, abbots, and jeeyar are allowed inside the Artha mandapa and beyond.
Unfortunately the TN government never responded to the misleading media report. people in TN are quite furious over the attitude of the government.
